    This Privacy Policy describes how Tucker Higgins ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and handles information in connection with the Cookie Commentary Service (the "Service"). The Service is a private, household-only automated notification system that monitors a Litter-Robot device and sends SMS messages to a small number of pre-authorized recipients.

    1. Information We Collect The Service collects and processes the following limited information:

    Litter-Robot device data: Activity events, cycle status codes, and weight measurements reported by the Litter-Robot 4 device via the Litter-Robot API.

    Phone numbers: The mobile phone numbers of pre-authorized recipients, stored as environment variables on our hosting infrastructure. These numbers are never sold, shared, or disclosed to any third party.

    Usage logs: Basic operational logs generated by the Service for debugging purposes. These are stored temporarily on Railway (our hosting provider) and are not shared.

    2. How We Use Information Information collected by the Service is used solely to detect cat activity events from the Litter-Robot device, generate AI-assisted commentary via the Anthropic API, deliver SMS notifications to pre-authorized household recipients via Twilio, and maintain a local activity history for contextual message generation. We do not use any collected information for marketing, analytics, advertising, or any purpose beyond the immediate operation of the Service.

    3. Third-Party Services The Service integrates with the following third-party providers, each operating under its own privacy policy: Litter-Robot / Whisker (device data retrieved via the Whisker API using credentials belonging to the device owner); Anthropic (activity context sent to the Anthropic API to generate SMS commentary — no personally identifiable information is included); Twilio (SMS delivery — recipient phone numbers are transmitted to Twilio for this purpose); and Railway (hosting infrastructure — operational logs may be retained subject to Railway's data retention policies).

    4. Data Retention Activity history is stored in a local SQLite database on a persistent volume for the purpose of generating contextual commentary (e.g., visit counts, weight trends). This data does not include any personal information and may be deleted at any time by the service operator.

    5. Data Sharing We do not sell, rent, or share any information collected by the Service with any third party, except as required to operate the Service or as required by law.

    6. Security Credentials and phone numbers are stored as environment variables on Railway's secure infrastructure and are not stored in source code. We take reasonable precautions to protect this information, though no system is completely secure.

    7. Scope This Service is private and operated exclusively for household use. It is not a commercial product, does not have public users, and does not collect information from the general public.
